There are many things to consider with the return of the school year. RHD works to protect the rights of Virginia workers. We are concerned that some plans for students returning to schools leave teacher without sufficient protections if they contract COVID-19. Insurance carriers have all but stated they will deny work comp claims for teachers who contract COVID after returning to the classroom, and now some Virginia legislators also want to deny them the right to sue for the damage from a disease that cause lifelong injury or death. Our very own Mike Beste joins the discussion on workers’ comp and COVID for teachers who return to the classroom.
