$3.0 Million – Workers’ Compensation

$3.0 Million – Workers’ Compensation

Attorney Stephen Harper was hired to represent a gentleman in his mid-thirties who was injured when he was stopped at a stoplight and was rear-ended by a vehicle that was doing in excess of 50 miles an hour at the time it struck the claimant. The impact resulted in injuries to the claimant’s spinal cord rendering him a partial quadriplegic.

Despite the denial of the workers’ compensation claim for the safety violation and despite the potential offset for the third-party recovery from the personal injury claim (and a product liability case which is pending in an out-of-state jurisdiction against Toyota, the manufacturer of the vehicle that the claimant was driving), Stephen Harper was able to secure a settlement for this gentleman on the denied claim for a total of $3 million.
