Our client was driving behind a tractor-trailer hauling a low-boy trailer, which made an improper left turn in front of an oncoming pick-up truck in Mecklenburg County. The pick-up struck the back of the low-boy trailer, became airborne, and landed on the hood of our client’s vehicle.
Our client sustained significant injuries that required two shoulder surgeries and a lengthy treatment for his neck, back, and left hip. We sued the tractor-trailer driver and his company for compensatory and punitive damages. Although the trucking company denied in court filings that they were at fault, Craig Davis got the defendant driver to admit in his deposition that he was negligent, ignored his specialized training on operating tractor-trailers, and caused the collision. The case settled for $1,000,000.00 approximately 10 weeks after a mediation.
