$420,000 – Workers’ Compensation

Our client was injured in February of 2017 while working as a registered nurse. She suffered an injury while assisting a patient. As a result of her injuries in the accident, our client developed chronic regional pain syndrome (CRPS) and anxiety, which caused her to be completely disabled from work.

The workers’ compensation insurance carrier stopped all of her benefits, including lost wages and medical care, in 2024. This occurred after sending her to multiple insurance company-chosen medical examiners, who denied that she had CRPS and denied that her continuing problems were related to the injury.

Reinhardt | Harper| Davis hired experts who supported our client’s diagnosis of CRPS and opined that her CRPS, depression, and work restrictions were all caused by her work accident. Ultimately, as a result of our efforts, partner Stephen Harper helped make the carrier pay our client almost $270,000 in lost wages and $287,000 in medical care before forcing the carrier to pay an additional $420,000 to settle the case and allow our client to put the harassment of the insurance carrier behind her.
